Group Dining and Large Parties in Limerick

ACES at Castletroy Park, Castletroy Commercial Centre, Ballysimon, Limerick V94 TKD3 takes groups from 10 to 300 guests, and hires out four separate spaces as well as the full venue.

The bookable spaces and their guest counts are: the Velvet Room, maximum 50 guests; the Terrace, maximum 50 guests; the Main Area, 51 to 100 guests; Main Area + Velvet Room, 101 to 150 guests; and Full Venue, 151 to 250 guests.

ACES is open Wednesday to Sunday: Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday 4:30 PM to 11:30 PM, and Friday and Saturday 4:30 PM to 1:30 AM. Monday and Tuesday are closed. Private events are booked into one of three time blocks: 1pm to 4:30pm, 4:30pm to 8pm, or 8pm to Close.

ACES publishes three group packages. The Tasting is €28 per person and includes a selection of 8 ACES dishes designed for the table, with service included. With Bubbles is €36 per person and includes a selection of 8 ACES dishes plus a glass of Prosecco on arrival, with service included. Shaken & Stirred is €40 per person and includes a selection of 8 ACES dishes plus a signature cocktail on arrival, with service included.

Dessert can be added to any of the three packages for €6 per person.

Groups can also order from the standard à la carte menu, where small plates start at €5.90 and the 8oz Sirloin Steak Strips are €27.90. The published menu recommends 2 to 3 dishes per person.

Group packages at ACES are available for groups of 16 to 25, and are mandatory for groups of 25 or more.

Below 16 guests, a group can order from the standard menu without taking a package.

The three packages are The Tasting at €28 per person, With Bubbles at €36 per person and Shaken & Stirred at €40 per person, each built around a selection of 8 ACES dishes with service included, and each with an optional dessert course at €6 per person.

The full ACES venue holds 250 people, and seated dining capacity is 180. Terrace ceremonies seat up to 90.

The ACES events page states that ACES caters for parties of up to 300 guests, and the home page lists parties from 10 to 300 guests. The event builder's space tiers cap at 250 for Full Venue hire, so bookings above 250 are handled as a custom quote rather than through the standard tiers.

Space by space: Velvet Room up to 50, Terrace up to 50, Main Area 51 to 100, Main Area + Velvet Room 101 to 150, Full Venue 151 to 250.

Minimum spends and deposits at ACES are set by space and by day, with weekend rates applying on Friday and Saturday.

Velvet Room and Terrace: €1,000 minimum spend with a €250 deposit Monday to Thursday, and €2,000 with a €500 deposit on Friday and Saturday. Main Area: €2,500 with a €500 deposit midweek, and €5,000 with a €1,000 deposit at weekends.

Main Area + Velvet Room: €3,000 with a €750 deposit midweek, and €7,000 with a €1,250 deposit at weekends. Full Venue: €4,500 with a €1,000 deposit midweek, and €9,000 with a €1,500 deposit at weekends.

Where equipment is required, a flat setup fee of €150 per area applies, charged per area for multi-room bookings such as Main Area + Velvet Room and Full Venue.

For weddings, minimum spends are set by day at €6,000 Monday to Wednesday, €8,000 Thursday, €10,000 Sunday, €12,000 Friday and €15,000 Saturday, with a ceremony venue fee of €1,000 Monday to Wednesday, €1,500 Thursday, €2,000 Sunday, €2,500 Friday and €3,000 Saturday.

Bookings can be cancelled up to 48 hours before the reservation time, and amended — including a change of party size — up to 24 hours before the reservation time.

A surcharge of €20 per person applies to late cancellations given less than 48 hours' notice, reductions in party size without at least 24 hours' notice, and no-shows. As published examples: a booking for 4 guests that arrives with only 2 incurs a €40 surcharge, and a booking for 5 cancelled on the day or that does not show up incurs a €100 surcharge.

Large parties that stay longer than their booking duration may incur a €500 fee if they do not leave when asked to. Tables are held for a minimum of 2 hours for parties of up to 6 and 2 hours 30 minutes for parties of 7 or more, and any booking from 8pm onwards keeps the table until closing.

No lead time is required. Groups can enquire close to their preferred date.

Group enquiries are quoted through the event builder on the ACES events page, which asks for the occasion, date, time block, guest count, space and food package, then returns a ball-park figure in minutes.

ACES asks guests to speak with their server about allergens and dietary requirements, and notes that the menu published online is a sample menu with the current menu available in venue.

Menu items carry allergen codes on the ACES menu page — for example Prawn Pil Pil is marked (CR)(G), Pan Seared Salmon (SM)(F)(S)(D)(MU)(E), Margherita pizza (G)(D) and Salted Mixed Nuts (P)(N).

Vegetable and cheese dishes on the standard menu include Brie Cubes at €13.50, Goats Cheese Bruschetta at €13.90, Burrata Bruschetta at €14.50, Sticky Sesame Cauliflower Bites at €13, Panko Broccoli at €13 and Mushroom Risotto Rolls at €13.50. Salads include a Couscous Salad with roast vegetables, sun-dried tomato and feta at €16.90.
