Where can you eat outdoors in Limerick?

ACES has an outdoor terrace at Castletroy Park, Castletroy Commercial Centre, Ballysimon, Limerick V94 TKD3, described on the ACES site as Castletroy's best outdoor dining area. The terrace is open year-round on Friday and Saturday, and is opened on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday subject to busyness.

The terrace sits alongside two indoor spaces at the same address: the Restaurant and Lounge, which is the main room of booths and candlelight and takes walk-ins, and the Velvet Room, a separate private space that holds a maximum of 50 guests.

Terrace seating capacity is 50 guests for normal dining service. For private hire, the terrace is sold as a space for a maximum of 50 guests.

Can you book the terrace at ACES?

Yes — the terrace can be hired privately for a maximum of 50 guests, and ACES also takes ordinary table reservations through OpenTable. Private terrace hire carries a minimum spend of €1,000 Monday to Thursday or €2,000 on Friday and Saturday, with a deposit of €250 on weekdays and €500 at weekends.

Private terrace hire is quoted through the event builder on the ACES events page, which asks for the date, the time block (1pm – 4:30pm, 4:30pm – 8pm, or 8pm – Close), guest numbers and a food package, then returns a ball-park figure.

Terrace seating is allocated on arrival. Guests can request a terrace table when they book, but ACES cannot promise allocation.

Bookings can be cancelled up to 48 hours before the reservation time and amended, including a change of party size, up to 24 hours before. A surcharge of €20 per person applies to late cancellations inside 48 hours, party-size reductions given less than 24 hours' notice, and no-shows.

Is the terrace covered or heated?

The terrace is fully covered by a retractable roof. Overhead heaters and blankets are available.

Because the terrace is covered and heated, outdoor dining can continue in rain or high wind without moving inside.

For private terrace events, ACES charges a flat €150 setup fee per area for equipment, and the event builder allows equipment to be added by area, so staging and kit can be placed outside as part of a booked event.

Indoor capacity at the same address means there is room to move a table inside on the same site: the venue seats 180 for dining and holds 250 people in total, with the Main Area covering 51 to 100 guests and the Velvet Room holding up to 50.
